This week, we're recording live from Teenytown discussing the 2019 supernatural horror film,

Dr. Sleep.

Mike Flanagan both directed the film and wrote the screenplay, adapted from the Stephen

King novel of the same name.

This film stars Ewan McGregor as an adult Danny Torrance, Rebecca Ferguson as Rose the Hat,

and Kylie Curran as Aberstone.

The film not only serves as an adaptation to the novel Doctor Sleep, but doubles as a sequel to

Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror classic The Shining.

So what did you guys think of Dr. Sleep the first time you saw it?

Honestly, I really liked it.

And Mike Flanagan had such a difficult task ahead of him.

Man.

Because first of all, Stephen King has gone on record for decades, saying how unsatisfied he was

with Kubrick's The Shining.

So first, he had to convince Stephen King that the public would enjoy a sequel to that film while also remaining faithful to the novel as to not piss off Stephen King and his Legion of Fans.

So, you know, it was a very difficult task.

I think he did a great job with it.

I do remember seeing the trailer for this movie and I was so excited for it and then I didn't go to see it.
