This week,

we're broadcasting live from the Gold Room of the Overlook Hotel discussing the 1980 horror classic The Shining. The film was co-written and directed by Stanley Kubrick based upon the novel

by Stephen King. While the film earned dissatisfaction from King due to its glaring differences

from his novel, it's widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and it's considered one of the greatest horror films of

all time. This week marks the 40th anniversary of its release, and the cultural impact of the

film is still felt in horror to this very day. So, what were your first impressions on The Shining?

I can honestly say I did not watch this movie until I was a teenager.

Really? I have no idea why. And if I did, I don't remember it. But I've watched this movie a

handful of times, including us watching it. Right. But I didn't watch it until I was like older.

I think honestly we might have been in the same boat. I don't remember seeing this as a child.

As a young child, like when we were watching it and stuff, no.

No.

But I feel like we were fairly young because I know that I had watched the film and then read that Stephen King hated it.

Right.

And being like, how the hell could he hate this?

Because it was so good.

But then when I was a teenager, I read the novel and I was like, that's why he hated it.

I honestly, here's my opinion on that.
