from the Parents Farmhouse discussing the 2013 franchise spawning horror film, The Conjuring. This

film was directed by James Wan and written by Chad and Carrie Hayes. This film stars Patrick

Wilson and Vera Farminga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Ron Livingston and Lily Taylor play

Roger and Carolyn Perrin.

This movie also launched The Conjuring Universe, which is eight movies strong and still growing.

What did you guys think of The Conjuring the first time you saw it?

I loved it.

I did too.

Yeah.

I thought it was real good.

It was different, but kind of the same.

Yeah.

A new take almost. Or like, I don't know how to explain it. You could feel that it was like a new era, I think, when it came out. I think, yeah, I think that's 100% right. Whenever I watched it, I remember thinking, like, not that we were in a slump as far as horror went, but it felt kind of almost like the resurgence of good horror. Yeah, I totally agree. Like you could tell this is going to, if this works, it's going to go somewhere.

Well, the Ed and Lorraine Warren are such fertile ground. That is like, oh, what if they made a movie about this or about that?

I will say, watching the first film, I was like, you know, they will make sequels.

I'm sure.

I never anticipated that it would grow into what it became an entire universe.

Yeah, me neither.

It's kind of insane.

And when you watch it, you're like, like you said, you know, you can have film after film of Ed and Lorraine Warren, but all these spin-offs, you know, without them.
