Today's title of our episode is a few more ideas about ceilings.

We wanted to do just a quick little follow-up to our episode this week because we received one letter that was so telling of so much of the messiness that we didn't even want to edit it down. So she gave us

permission to share it anonymously. My great-grandparents, not members,

annulled their marriage when my grandma was a baby and dumped her and her five

older siblings at their grandmas and walked out of their lives for many years.

Eventually everyone was able to work through the pain and offer forgiveness for the situation,

but it has always been a tender spot for my grandma that her parents didn't want them.

My grandparents joined the church when my mom was a small child.

About three years ago, my grandma was finally sealed to her parents in the temple.

It was a nice day, but I had a lot of complicated feelings about it.

Both of my great-grandparents had remarried

after their annulment.

They were happy with their second spouses,

but my grandma said she will never be the one

to seal her parents to their second spouses. Even more complications arise when we look at my mom.

My parents were sealed and I was born in the covenant. At some point in their unhappy marriage

my mom made a mistake and got pregnant by another man who was not a member of the church.

My mom has said that the pressure she received from her parents and church leaders, even getting a written letter from the Prophet at the time, was unbearable.
