Hey everyone and welcome back to the Pink Bike podcast with me, Mike Levy, your host for most of these

things. So this pink show is a little different. I sat down for a chat with current World Tour

Racer, Ultra Cyclist Wildman, and new mountain biker, Lachlan Morton. Now, Lachlan isn't someone that

you usually see on Pink Bikes

homepage. He lives mostly in the Curly Bar world and races for EF Education Easy Post.

But a lot of his achievements have transcended whatever type of bike he happens to be riding

during whatever crazy adventure he's on. Now, we do eventually talk about Mount biking later in the podcast, I swear, but we also talk about

what it takes to race on the world tour and how that level can bring out the worst in some

people, almost walking away from it all, his thereabouts adventures in Colombian around the

world, and his recent alt tour that saw him

beat the Tour de France Peloton while riding the entire route unsupported, including transfer

stages.

Lachlan, I'm not sure how many pinkers are going to be familiar with your world tour racing,

but this is my show, and I'm interested in that.

So that's where I want to start things off.

20-year-old, Lachlan, you've been racing on a world tour team, Garmin Sharp World Tour Team. I imagine that had been your dream for, I mean, a long time. You've been racing

towards that. You've been working your ass off for that forever. But from what I've read,

it also, I gather it didn't feel like that after three years. I don't want to be super

serious right off the bat,

but can you take me back and tell me what was your mindset at that time? Yeah, what were you thinking?

What were you going through? Yeah, I guess from when I was like 10 years old, that was like my only
