Hey everyone and welcome back to another Pink Bike podcast.

I'm Mike Levy, your usual host for these things, and I want you to use your imagination

for the next few minutes.

I want you to pretend that you're an editor for some mountain bike website of some kind.

Tomorrow, you're going to get on a plane to fly to the other side of the world where you'll ride

exotic single track on a $10,000 mountain bike that the public probably won't even see for a few

more months. And while you're there, you'll get to talk to the engineers who design the

bike and ask them all sorts of questions. Now, that doesn't sound half bad, does it? Of course not.

But when it comes to press camps, there's a lot more to talk about than that. And that's exactly

what today's podcast is all about. Later on in the show, we'll explain how press camps work,

what it's like to go to them,

why companies spend big box holding press camps, and whether or not the media should be going to press camps at all. We're also going to share some of our best press camp stories from huge

crashes and injuries to edibles and laser shows at a bike launch, to what happens when the bike that

we traveled around the world to see breaks during the first media ride? That's definitely

happened. I also want to hear what it's like from a bike company's perspective. So I've got

Brian Park and Sarah more with me today, both of whom have organized press camps working for bike brands.

They probably have some nightmare or gong show stories to share with us today. But before we get

into all that, Kasmir, you and I have been to some pretty cool places. We've done some fun things

at press camps over the years. Where's the most interesting press camp that you've been to?

I've been to a lot of places, but one time I went to an island in the archipelago off the coast of Sweden.
