Summary

For our 100th episode, what could be more fitting than a discussion about the temple? It's the centerpiece of Latter-day Saint worship members believe sets our church apart from all others. Many women can trace their most sacred experiences to it, but for others—from the wording to the rituals—attending the temple causes deep unease. Having complicated feelings about something so reverenced can be a struggle to admit, even to oneself. In this conversation, Cynthia and Susan highlight the emotions and experiences of women who generously shared their hearts with us on this difficult topic.

0:20.5	Some days it's truer than others. Yeah, today we're going to discuss really complicated things because the title of our episode is The Ultimate Big Deal Part 3, part 3, Susan. And I would like to point our listeners to Part 1 in Part 2, and those are episodes 12 and 51. I've noticed it takes us a year in between recording each of these
0:46.0	episodes. It takes us a year to have to work up our courage again. Yeah, we kind of need it. Is it a year to recover or is it I don't know I don't know either I don't know yeah. So why are we coming back today to do part three Susan what what's going on now? Well we're coming back to do part three, Susan. What's going on now? Well, we're coming back to do part three because
1:06.9	on parts one and two, we talked about some of the reasons that the temple is
1:11.0	complicated for us.
1:13.2	And in part two, we actually also had some listener input
1:17.3	on that also as to why it was complicated for other women.
1:20.3	But today, we want to talk about issues that other women, but today we want to talk about issues that other women have generously

1:28.9	We asked for some feedback on social media and we got it as we knew we would. We have the best
1:33.4	listeners and they're so so kind to share with us because these are hard things
1:37.8	right and and one of the things that I have figured out is that the temple being complicated can look as many different ways as there are women that it's complicated for.
1:51.0	That's what I thought after preparing this. You know and not everyone finds the
1:54.3	temple to be complicated so I want to acknowledge that right up front for many women.
1:58.8	It's their favorite place. It's sort of this the centerpiece of our whole religious life, but that is not the case for everyone
