I believe that the women's church pedestal is a false one and that it is designed only to distract.

And so far it's done a pretty good job of that, right?

A lot of people who don't look closely at it are fooled they're fooled by that pedestal

Okay, that's not that complicated though, Cynthia, because we don't. Well I know. Well okay we're going to make an

argument today. No we're going to do that. I'm going to make an argument for the fact that

we obviously don't in my mind believe our own stuff on this topic.

Right, but it is, I see your point, it is kind of silly that this is the title of an episode

because hello, it is definitely part of our doctrine and yet we really don't believe our own stuff

which is what we're going to get to so let's just jump in let's do it I feel like we've

had a lot of episodes about like the nature of God, about you wrote your wonderful

essay searching for a larger God, but I feel like all of those topics centered around God in our personal lives. Right. But today we kind

of want to broaden that to talking about God in the context of our organization.

And that gets kind of tricky because I can do whatever I want in my personal life, right?

But then there are definitely constraints in the organization.

Right. I mean, how often have I know I personally said on this podcast my brain waves are my business.
