Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,987. Today I want to read an excerpt from

Alex Hormosey, who I think he gave a hat tip to Count Newport from his book, Be So good,

they can't ignore you. And this is the quote, quote, people want to find their passion,

but you don't find it. You it and you create it by getting good at something and to get good at stuff you start by doing something you suck at then you get good then you like it then people ask you

how you found your how you found your passion and then you answer by. Then people ask you how you found your, how you found your passion. And then you

answer by starting when you sucked and not giving up. Cal Port, Cal Newport adds to it. He says,

when you get really good at something, people think you're a natural if they only knew. This message is for the people who are out there pursuing something that maybe right now

you're struggling at it.

Maybe right now you have the imposter syndrome and you're not quite sure if you're going to

be taken seriously.

You're not sure if you're sure if you're going to get to a level where you're going to be respected. But keep sticking with it. Keep going. And the more you go attack it, the better you get, the better you get. The more you love it, the more you love it. The more confidence you have, the more confidence you have. The more you do it, the better you get. And then then the flywheel starts to happen the people who are really good at what they do were willing to keep going when they're

really bad at doing it and so my question to you if you're in that valley of despair wondering if

you should keep going my question is two Number one, why are you doing it?

It's important to have a why behind what you do. And then number two, commit to yourself. What can you do

to commit to the process to help you remember that things are going to be bad? You are going to struggle, but so did anyone else who became great.

Anyone else who became great went through the road, the city of Suck.

And so you're standing on the same grounds as many people came before you.
