principle that if you want to lead people, you really have to know the people

you're leading. When was the last time you asked the people that you lead what

their hopes and dreams are? When was the last time you asked them their why? When

was the last time you asked them how their family is doing? Do you know the

names of their, the name of their spouse or their kids? Do you know their birthday?

Do you know what they enjoy to do? Enjoy doing when they're away at home or when

when they are on their free time. Really getting to know people. And it's not just a

one-time thing. Update it. Are we change? We evolve. We adapt. And so the

constantly check in the phrase we always talk about on this podcast. When you

the key to leadership is to build relationships so strong, they can bear the

weight of truth. And one way to get to telling the truth and really truly

leading people is to know who they are. Understand them. Know their fears. Know

their worries. Know their hopes. Know their dreams. And it starts by asking them,

talking to them. And sometimes we might think, oh, there's no time for that.

There's no time, there's no time not to do that. Because when you get to know someone,

truly get to know someone, then you can tap into their motivations. You can tap into

what drives them. And now that you know what drives them, you can set up their

environments and you can pull different levels, levers and push different buttons to help
