| 0:07.8 | Today I want to talk about determination and discipline. If you're listening to this, the one thing I know about you is you are seeking self-improvement. |
| 0:23.7 | And chances are you have a high level of determination you're determined in whatever you're trying to pursue but one thing we often neglect |
| 0:30.3 | or we don't talk about too often or maybe we do talk about all the time is the combination |

| 0:43.9 | Because if you don't have discipline, determination is, it's fickle. |
| 0:49.7 | And a lot of times what determination does, it creates so much ambition, so much energy, |
| 0:56.3 | so much excitement that you might find yourself chasing multiple pursuits, multiple priorities. |
| 1:01.1 | And as we discussed before, when you have many priorities, you have zero. |
| 1:07.4 | And so the purpose of discipline is that it protects you from getting distracted. |
| 1:12.9 | Lack of discipline leads to more distractions. Once you have the determination to go after what you want, create routines, create a system, have the discipline to stick with it |
| 1:20.2 | and it continue to pursue your path until you see it through. Now, you're going to have to identify |
| 1:26.9 | how long the path is going to be. |
| 1:29.2 | And that's the great thing about your path. You want to decide how long a race you want to run. |
| 1:33.9 | Is it going to be a marathon? Is it going to be a half marathon, a 5K? Is it going to be a mile? Is it going to be a sprint? |
| 1:41.3 | How far is a sprint going to go? How much effort are you going to put into it? |
| 1:45.0 | Because when you have the discipline and have this plan, then you can be frugal with your energy. |
| 1:50.6 | Oftentimes we talk about being frugal with our money, which is important. |
| 1:54.0 | But we also want to be frugal with our energy. We want to be frugal with our attention. |
| 1:58.5 | We want to be frugal with our time, meaning we don't want to waste it. |
| 2:03.0 | We don't want to give our time, attention, and our energy to things that are going to waste it, |
| 2:06.9 | that are going to, they're going to deplete those finite resources. And so today, my invitation |
