| 0:07.3 | experiences in our lives that you look back on and it fills you with negative emotions. |
| 0:15.6 | It was so painful. It was so scary. It was so detrimental to your physical health, your mental health that you kind of want to bury it and you never want to go back and revisit. |
| 0:28.0 | However, sometimes those memories just pop up. |
| 0:31.1 | They creep up on you. |
| 0:32.6 | And it causes you your heart to race. |
| 0:37.2 | It caused you to be fearful. |
| 0:38.5 | It caused you to question your ability to perform in the present. |
| 0:42.4 | This happens to elite athletes as well. |
| 0:44.7 | If ever they've had a bad experience, a bad season, a bad outing, a bad game, a bad |
| 0:49.6 | training, if it was incredibly bad to the point to where it hurt them emotionally and mentally |
| 0:57.1 | and they have mental and emotional scars because of it. |
| 1:00.5 | What can possibly happen sometimes is they're afraid of experiencing that all over again. |
| 1:05.5 | And so as a result, when they're going good, sometimes they say themselves, |
| 1:10.6 | don't mess up. Don't ruin this because you're |
| 1:13.9 | going to go back and experience what you did that one time. One thing that we do is to look back at the |
| 1:21.5 | experience. Rather than run away from it, you lean into it. And rather than drumming up all of the |

| 1:29.1 | they grab a sheet of paper and they write down what that bad experience taught them. |
| 1:35.4 | How did it make them stronger? What did they learn from it? And then all of a sudden, |
| 1:42.0 | as they start to peel back the layers and dig deep into that experience, |
| 1:47.1 | these athletes end up realizing that that quote unquote bad experience actually became a tremendously |
