Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Suea, episode 1,742. Today we are talking about

developing skills. Now when we talk about developing skills, not only am I talking about athletic

skills, many of you are athletes and you're developing skills to enhance your performance in whatever sport

you're doing, which is great. You need to sharpen your craft. You need to pound the stone.

You need to spend the time to embrace the boredom of consistency to do those little things

that will help you be sharper, be better, and help you be a better

teammate for your team. Now, even if you're not an athlete, my question to you is to take a look at

your job, whatever job you have, the job as a parent, the job at work, the job as a leader. And if you were to take

your job, whatever job you decide you want to focus on, and break it into skills, what skills

does it take to be an effective husband, to be an effective mother, to be an effective worker,

to be an effective manager, leader?

What are the specific skills that you need in order to be the best version of yourself?

Now the question is, as you take a look at that list of skills that you wrote down or thinking about,

which ones are you good at?

Which skills do you think you are pretty good at? And why? And next, which skills do you know you need to get better at? You know what they are. No one needs to tell you, but what do you know you need to get better at?

My invitation to you is to identify one of those skills you need to tell you, but what do you know you need to get better at? My invitation to you is to identify one of those skills you need to improve and to find some way to work on it. How can you specifically

practically enhance that skill you want to get better at.

Look up YouTube videos.

Listen to podcast episodes that can help you sharpen that skill.

Another thing is to find someone who's really good, who you think is really good at that skill, walk up to them and say, hey, this guy, Justin Sua, told me that I need to

get better with this skill.
