Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1737. And two days ago.

No, yesterday, yesterday, Saturday, the Tampa Bay raise, we were eliminated from the wild card round against the Cleveland Guardians. And it's always painful.

Losing stinks. It is hard. It is something you dedicate hours and hours to into.

You sacrifice time with the family. You're traveling quite a bit and it's something you dedicate your

life to. You invest a lot in it and not just the staff, not just the coaches, but obviously the players.

The players who are on the field and they're the ones who are performing. They're the ones who

are playing. But when you do lose and the season is over or the year is over, whatever you're doing is

over, everything has a beginning, it has a middle, and has an end. And there's only one team

who's going to finish the entire season winning their last game in the postseason. And

it's a great time to reflect. It's a great time to reflect on what went

well, what did you learn, how can you get better, what were the relationships that were forged,

what are you grateful for? And once again, it's painful at times. It's painful at times and

you get filled with the hindsight bias. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, what am I

going to do next time? What should I have said? What should I have not said? What should I have done?

What should I not have done? But that's the power of reflection. And I think true, if you don't take

time to pause and to reflect and to look back with that quiet time,

then you really truly can't get better.

Making new mistakes is making progress in disguise.

So today's episode is a reminder to pause and reflect,

to look back on the day that was, the week that was, the season that was,

the relationships that were so you can learn. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you can learn from both.
