1,7808. Confidence is something that many people try to chase. Now, confidence, a lot of times it can be

described as a feeling. You feel confident. But if I were to tell you to just be confident when you don't feel confident, you're

obviously going to look at me and say, that would be great.

I don't feel confident.

Instead of trying to chase the feeling of confidence, pursue competence.

Competence is your actual ability to do something.

Competence is built after hours of training, practice sharpening your craft day after day.

Now, you can be competent without feeling confident. But if you're trying to chase confidence without being competent,

you're not going to be in the best position to succeed.

Chase and pursue competence over confidence.

Let confidence flow from all of your hard work, from all of your effort, from all of your training so that you can look at yourself in the mirror with certainty and say,

I did everything I could to prepare myself the best I could for this moment. I might not feel

ready. I might not feel confident,

but I know I did everything I could

to be competent and ready for this moment.

Sometimes you're going to feel confident

and perform poorly.

Sometimes you're not going to feel confident

and perform well.

If you had to choose between one or the other, you want to chase competence.

It's all about competence.
