As we kick this week off, I want to share with you a little quote I heard from Shane Parrish's email that we got on Friday.

It says this, quote, a simple question you can ask yourself that often changes behavior.

Is what I'm about to do, a step toward or away from what's important?

I'll read that again.

Is what I'm about to do a step toward or away from what's important?

Close quotes.

I think this is a great question to ask yourself all the time,

but today let's focus on it on this question today. I want to ask you, is what you're about to do today,

a step toward or away from what's important? Now, that starts with knowing what's important, number one. And then number two,

planning and looking ahead to your actions, choosing your response rather than just simply reacting,

rather than simply going through the motions. And so there's a couple of questions ask

yourself before you get to this one. Do you know what's important to you right now?

Do you know what that is? Then number two, have you planned your day out today to get you closer to

those things? Is what you're about to do today getting you closer or further away from those

things that are most important? It's important to know what matters to you so that you can schedule your day and your time

around those things.

So hopefully this is helpful.
