Today we're talking about an important principle. You have to be willing to be bad in order to be good.

0:14.7

A lot of people stop short of becoming great, becoming elite, because they cannot tolerate struggling.

0:22.7

They cannot tolerate failure.

0:24.9

They cannot tolerate the embarrassment of making mistakes in front of a crowd or in front of other people.

you have to be able to be bad. And instead of beating up on yourself over things that you,

struggles along the way. And you're going to fall short of things that you should be able to do.

1:24.6

It takes a little patience, takes a little training, takes a little coaching up,

1:28.8

and understanding that, hey, I'm here. If I'm a leader, I'm a parent, I'm a coach, I'm a

1:34.2

teacher, I need to model emotional control as they struggle and fumble and bumble along the way.

1:41.1

And so here's to struggling, here's to failing, here's to sticking with the process

1:46.1

and knowing that you're going to be bad before you get good.
