Good morning and welcome to the Increasing Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,236.

I recently read a quote that says, if you hit a wrong note, it's the next note you play that determines if it's good or bad.

What I love about that quote is that it's not just music that that rings true.

And that quote actually comes from Miles Davis.

And he's known to be one of the most influential jazz musicians of all time.

He was not only known for his ability to play music, but his ability to improvise,

And that's why he was so famous. In jazz, there is no script. You're creating as you go and sometimes you're going to hit a note

that doesn't sound right. But Davis believe that a mistake doesn't matter. It's what you do next

that matters. And that's why I like the quote so much because in performance, in life,

we're going to hit the wrong notes. As a leader, you're going to make a bad decision.

As parents, we're going to have poor word choices.
