Hello and welcome to Let's Talk About It. This is Taylor, your host and today we are going

to suck responsibly and we are going to talk plastic. I'm very excited to be talking

with the CEO and founder of Final Straw that you guys have likely seen me post on my Instagram

several times as a way to help reduce my use of single use plastics in straws which is

a small portion of a lot of the waste that we have but it's definitely a good starting point.

So we're going to be talking with Emma who earned her master's degree in environmental

management and sustainability at Harvard. She's spent four years in the pollution prevention

department at Los Alamos National Library. She's spent four years in the pollution prevention

department at Los Alamos National Laboratory working to reduce the lab's waste. She currently

lives in Santa Barbara and I'm really excited to talk to her and her commitment to Final

Straw and banding single use plastics and just learning more about how they pollute our

lands, our ecosystem and contaminator food chain and also kind of how we manage our emotions

and our mental health as we take a look at our responsibility to our environment and reducing

our waste. We'll get right into it. So welcome Emma to the show. Thank you so much for being

this conversation about the environment and where we're at just taking a moment and being

impressed with your background and think you're for sure just like such a badass boss lady

and that I can only imagine that you know certainly you'll have your tough days with that.
