For 20 years, I worked at a local government agency here in the U.S. We were a small well-run office with a supervisor who had a very laissez-faire style of leadership. And this work. Think Ron Swanson, Parking Recreation. Nice. It was, do your job. If you have an idea, develop a program and we'll try it.

If it doesn't work, no arm done.

Took what we learned from it and used it in another program.

Many programs developed spontaneously and there's a very collegial relationship within the department between everyone from the department.

Head down to the administrative staff and with other departments across the organization as well.

So everyone got along.

I love that. That department head, unfortunately, retired. Oh, no. And was replaced with a retired

army cardal, Dan Hutt. Oh, who is somewhat dictatorial in his style. Hmm, you can dictate my style.
