This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. I quit the job that made me work during a funeral at 3 a.m. But after what happened next, I don't know what to do. I mean, asking someone to work at 3 a.m. is one thing. Asking someone to work at 3 a.m. during a funeral. They're the LeBron James of toxic workplace. I know, bro. I mean, they're probably dead tired at that point.

Yeah. You got me. You got me. Every time I do a pun, John continues. Like, I just said something

normal. And then he's like, always because your delivery is very smooth where it's just like inserted in

there and my brain has to calibrate every time. It's my favorite thing. It's like John sighing at my puns. You're good at those. I will admit. You got it. A little backstory. I've been working at this place for five years and it's been the most toxic place I've ever been. I stayed telling myself the pay was worth it, but the abuse got to be too

much recently. I feel like I have to justify my decision by adding that the abuse I'm referring

to includes 24-7 calls asking me to do work from wherever I'm at. I've gotten calls at 3 a.m.

while at a funeral while at birthday parties. Basically,

whenever my asshole boss wants. Also, he loves to make me feel like crap and insult me every

chance he gets, telling me how I'm a mess and basically useless. And when I confronted him about it,

he said he paid me enough to keep my mouth shut. Yikes. Wow. Well, today I had enough. I quit telling him tomorrow will be my last day. And it will only be to finish what I hadn't done today. I don't regret quitting my job. I only regret not doing it earlier. There we go. My problem is that now I have no job. And I have to wait to hear from the places I've applied to.

This means I'll not be working for at least a few weeks. And as a person who lives paycheck to paycheck, this is my worst nightmare. I don't know how I'm going to make rent next month, as I don't know if my last paycheck will be enough to cover it. Now I'm scrambling to find some filler work while I hear from the other places I've applied to. Man, it seems like you're being paid well, paycheck to paycheck.

I don't know. Yeah. It doesn't seem like you're being paid well. Like in terms of him saying, you're paid so well if you're living paycheck. Maybe, maybe it was like. Unless you're buying those Gucci bags. They just kind of brainwashed your situation. Or unless OPE's louis Vuitton yeah just like sleep sleeping every

night on their on their Gucci pillow yeah yeah you can you can sleep in your Gucci bag

you're on the streets but they'd probably say like I could sell it if they have that this is an
