Now, in the last two episodes, we talked about the notion of truth versus misinformation.

Two weeks ago, we covered the question about truth in the media, and last week was specifically about truth on the internet.

Today's episode is about truth versus misinformation and artificial intelligence.

So if you happened to listen to the last two episodes, you'll know I've been arguing that

the position of truth is not as simple as many pundits have made

it out to be. A lot of people have said truth is declining and misinformation is on the rise,

it's achieving ascendancy. So much so that the Oxford English Dictionary in 2016 coined the term post-truth,

implying from the structure of the word that there used to be a time where people operated on

truth, whereas now, regretfully, people's beliefs are predicated on emotion and personal beliefs.

So I've made my arguments in those episodes about why I think that position is so specious. And what I gave was a simple historical analysis

that demonstrates beyond any doubt that people have never operated on anything but emotion and personal beliefs.

And the idea that that has recently changed be lies nothing but an appalling ignorance of history.
