Tonight I'd like to examine the third of the hindrances.

It's one that at different times can be very strong in our practice and in our lives.

And these are the mental states, the mental factors of sloth and torpor.

Now these two factors sloth and torpor are actually distinct mental qualities, but they're closely related and they always arise in conjunction with one another.

So we'll look just very briefly at the distinction

This is the instruction about working with these states.
