Tonight, I'd like to continue with a discussion of the next section of the Satipatana Suta,

and this is mindfulness of the dama with respect to the five aggregates.

The Buddha uses this contemplation of the aggregates or in Polly it's called Kanda in Sanskrit

Skanda to analyze our subjective experience and through this analysis to

deconstruct the very deeply held concept and belief in self.

There are many instances when we read the Suits, the discourses,

where people would hear these teachings on the aggregates and they'd become fully enlightened.

And if not fully enlightened, it said that the stainless dama vision eye would open.

And people would be praising the Buddha in this way

after these teachings,

saying he was turning upright what had been overthrown, revealing what was hidden, showing the way to those who are lost,

or holding up a lamp in the dark for those with eyes to see.

Sometimes at first reading or hearing about the five aggregates his teaching,

it might seem dry or some kind of philosophical analysis,

but when we bring the teachings

directly to our experience that when we apply them in our experience,

they lead us to a profound investigation
