A big theme going through this story is really about shame and how we deal with shame and how we

recover from shame. I was raised out there, I was a closeted Mormon, gay Mormon boy, I'm not

by someone else, was hurt by someone else, that's a human condition and so I like to think that by

acknowledging the hurt that was passed on to me, that I don't have to go on and out and hurt

someone else. And that's the beauty of it. You know, it just eliminates victimhood. It just

eliminates it because you get to be in it and be so validated and so deeply seen, so deeply seen,
