Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast.

This week I have taken on two new one-to-one clients who have both been through breast cancer and now are in medical menopause.

0:15.0

So this basically means that they're in artificial menopause to stop ovarian function and so estrogen level stay low.

0:26.3

Now obviously in this situation you wouldn't be taking HRT because essentially you're trying to do

0:31.0

the opposite. That'd kind of undo the whole point of the being in medical menopause.

0:40.9

And this means that there are a few considerations to diet and exercise that wouldn't necessarily in other situations be relevant because of this

1:29.8

goals. Like both of them want to get back to doing pull-ups. So both them have at least a five pull-up goal.

1:36.5

And one of them is going to be tracking the actual Sahara Desert, right? So no fucking around.

1:42.0

And one of the reasons I love working with people who

1:46.0

have been through a lot is that sometimes they just have like the most incredible

1:50.3

and inspiring goals and this like zest for life and I want to make sure that that

1:55.8

feeling is backed by the amount of energy that they have because obviously that one of the most

2:02.7

ongoing symptoms of cancer treatment that most people don't really think about or talk about

2:10.3

enough is cancer-related fatigue and that can last for years if not decades and when managed well
