Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness Podcast. Today I'm going to cover a few things.

0:07.0

The first one being why people overeat and the questions that you need to ask that you're probably not asking.

0:14.0

And then the second one being a really, really important conversation I had on Instagram with somebody that I think will resonate with

0:23.6

probably literally everyone to some degree or another. So I'm going to start with why people

0:29.3

overeat. There are many reasons that people overeat. But when it's not hunger, it's often some

0:37.3

kind of unmet need.

0:40.3

And I heard someone use this analogy in actually a completely different context, but I thought,

0:45.3

1:20.1

finding out what's causing the fire, finding out what's causing the overeating and getting to the

1:24.3

root cause of it. This is why a lot of things can seem to work for a short period of time.

1:29.3

Now, there are, like I said, many reasons that people overeat.

1:33.3

And we need to figure out initially what that reason is for you.

1:38.3

And often it's boredom, or some kind of dissatisfaction in a certain area of your life,

1:43.3

whether it's your social life, your dating life, your work life.

1:47.0

Largely, I think it's that people don't feel like they have a purpose and I think that's one of the,

1:53.0

I'm probably not spoken about enough, but like the real keys to living a life that you enjoy,

1:59.0

it's actually having purpose, like so much happiness

2:01.8

comes from waking up with some kind of purpose. Sometimes people overeat to numb feelings,
