Summary

Let's talk about one of the fastest ways to lose money, lose momentum, and slowly start resenting your business.

It's not ads.

It's not the algorithm.

It's not even your offer.

It's a setter who is underperforming and you keep trying to "coach it out of them" while your calendar stays empty.

And here's what makes this tricky.

When a setter is underperforming, most business owners do one of two things.

They either micromanage every conversation like an FBI agent.
Or they bury their head in the sand and hope next week magically improves.

Neither one works.

So today I'm going to show you exactly how to diagnose the true constraint when a setter isn't performing, and then how to lead the situation with a feedback rule that keeps your culture clean and your standards crystal clear.

I used to have a mentor that would say something like, yeah, you know, if you want to do

0:03.3

X, Y, Z, you can totally do that. You just can't work here, right? Like, if you don't have

0:08.6

our core values and you don't have our standards, that's A. Okay. You just can't work here. Just got to

0:13.6

find somewhere else to go work. Hello, hello. Welcome back to the fitness podcast. I am about

savior in your business today. I want to talk about one of the fastest ways to lose money, lose momentum, and start slowly resenting your business. And it's not one that people talk about very often. You know, people will talk about ads, talk about content, talk about the algorithm, talk about your offer.

But what I find when people start to hate their business and things really start going wrong,

0:43.2

it's a team member who is underperforming or multiple team members who are underperforming.

0:47.5

You're trying to coach them out of it and it's not working.

0:50.6

And really where this frustration really happens is all the way at the starting line of your business. Like if you look at business, like a conveyor belt and you don't have calls on your calendar and you're not making sales. And like you don't really get any problems in business beyond that. You don't have fulfillment problems because you don't have clients to fulfill on, right? Because you've never made the sale. So the most frustrating thing that I see is a setter who is underperforming and you keep

1:13.2

trying to coach them out of it, but your calendar keeps staying empty.

1:16.9

And here's what makes this tricky.

1:18.1

When a setter is underperforming, most business owners, they do one of two things.

1:22.1

They either micromanage every single conversation like a freaking FBI agent in their DMs,

1:44.4

or they bury their head in the sand and they just hope, well, hope it gets better. Like I ask what people are doing. They're like, I don't know. You haven't looked at the conversations? No. So you're either like micromanaging or you're abdicating. And people usually fall on one end of the spectrum when it comes to management. The thing is, neither of the, neither one works, obviously, right? So today I'm going to show you how exactly you can diagnose the true

1:48.4

constraint when a setter is not performing and how to lead the situation with a feedback

1:53.9

rule that I love that will keep your culture really clean and that give you like crystal clear

1:58.9

standards on, you know know people knowing what you mean

2:01.4

and doing what you say in a good friendly fun way. I'm also going to use an example from an open

2:06.7

office hour because I think it's just easy to teach through examples. So I want to I want to share

2:12.2

an example of a student in our program right now who's dealing with this exact thing because I see

it over and

2:17.6

over and over again and you're going to be able to see yourself in that story hopefully so by the
