I want you to take me back to the beginning of your alcohol journey.

Okay, well for me, it started quite young.

I'll preface it with, I did not grow up in a household where there was alcohol.

So it wasn't like I was around it

or my parents drank.

It was the opposite of that.

But I was in junior high school so young I want to say I wasn't even 13 maybe 12 and I did and this was in the early 70s and so the climate at that time was very things were starting to become very free and and you know that whole kind of hippie era was was coming in after the 60s and I had I have older an older brother and two younger brothers. I was the only girl in a Mexican American family in Los Angeles.

My mother was first generation Mexican American and my father. My father migrated as a young man to the states and that's where he met and

married my mother and raised us there. But I bring that up because at that time, like I say, there was some freedom in the air. That's the only way I can put it because I remember that even a few years later in high school we had like open campus where we could come and go as we

pleased which now you know seems kind of crazy to me but I'm even going to go a little bit before high school.
