0:56.0 | So what's so interesting about Jared is that he's worked in basically every single sphere of the media that we sort of tried to focus on, |

1:06.0 | So he started as a journalist covering the music industry. |
1:10.0 | He then went to the Coffinton Post before it sold to AOL. |
1:13.0 | And then he spent a bunch of time working in the sort of ad tech space. |
1:16.0 | And he then actually led a company focused on using the blockchain to impact the news industry. |
1:23.0 | Now he's at the Washington Post. |
1:25.0 | So he's really got a great background and perspective across all different aspects of the industry. |
1:29.0 | And what we're basically talking about today is his interest in the future of the way media companies are structured in a time when there's always different options for creators. |
1:39.0 | We are sort of seeing sub stack, the idea of going independent from sort of a major publication like the New York Times or New York magazine. |
