Today we'll be telling the story of St. Ludon,

whose feast is celebrated on February 12th.

Not much is known about St. Ludon. He was the son of

Hill-Dabod Duke of Scotland. After his father's death, Ludon spent his

inheritance on the building of hospitals, emphasizing that they should welcome anyone that needed help, including foreigners.

Ludan spent the rest of his life on a very long pilgrimage

to and from the Holy Land to the tombs of the apostles.

He traveled by foot, begged for food,

stayed wherever he could, and spent many hours in adoration

in different churches along the way.

Many years later, in 120202 on his way back from the Holy Land

Ludham became sick in Nordheim, Alsace France, and died there. Two churches

wanted to bury him in their cemeteries and they got into a fight over who would get him.

In order to settle the argument, the Abbot had the casket put into a wagon attached to a wild horse,

and whichever church the horse went to would be his burial site.

The horse stopped in front of St George and that's where he was buried.
