I'm Gretchen Rubin, a writer whose studies happiness, good habits and human nature.

I'm a New York City and with me is my sister and for the past year my co-host Elizabeth Kraft.

That's me Elizabeth Kraft, a TV writer and producer living in LA.

And Gretchen I have to say it's a little bit funny that today on our anniversary episode we're having technical difficulties.

It's always usually gone very smoothly but today the app we use to connect the two of us is having issues.

So hopefully no one will even notice.

But if it sounds different that's why.

But we will soldier on.

Technology is great when it works and then not when it doesn't.

Exactly.

But it's our anniversary.

It's so exciting.

Now arguably episode 52 could have been our anniversary show but we decided to opt for the calendar year anniversary.
