Welcome to Thinner Peace and Menopause and Beyond. I'm Dr. Deb Butler, master life and weight coach,

and your coach, of course. Today is episode number 44, and it's all about failure is not an option. I'm talking to you. Failure is not an option. Stay tuned.

Hi there. Today, I want to talk about failure. And you know, it's been four weeks since the beginning of the year. And I know everybody

starts out in gangbusters. And then after about four or five weeks, some thoughts might be

running into your head, like maybe I can't do this or this is too hard or, you know, something

that makes you feel hopeless. And hopeless does not create

positive action. What you really want to feel is determination and motivation. And you know by now

that those kind of feelings come from your head and the things that you think, which makes me

think about one of my clients that I've talked to you about in the past. She's an attorney,

and very successful and just started her own firm, which is also doing ridiculously great.

And she was having trouble losing weight, and she didn't think she could do it,

which is why she hired me. And one of the things that we talked about, which I talked to you about

in one of my podcasts about having that mindset that you have in your career to have that same mindset when you're taking

care of yourself, to lose weight, to get healthy, to do anything that you want to do that

involves self-care. And so one of the things that I asked her, and you might remember,

if you heard this in the podcast, is what did you think when you started your own firm?

Because certainly you didn't feel hopeless and confused or you never would have gotten your firm

off the ground and it wouldn't have been doing as great as it is. And so you know what she told me?

She told me that the thing that she thought the most was failure is not an option. That's where

her mind went. And that's exactly where her mind went when she was in the middle of a divorce too,

which was right before she started her firm. Failure is not an option. She's got to do it. Now, just think if you actually

thought that same thought, failure is not an option and you believed it with all of your heart,
