Summary

As ambitious high-achievers, there are certain things we’ve been taught not to say. Instead of four-letter words. I’m talking about phrases like:

I’m dissatisfied with this life I’ve worked so hard to build.

I want something unnameably-different from this amazing looking life.

I want more. And less. And fun in a way I can’t articulate.

If you can relate, start by taking the bar of soap out of your mouth—there’s no shame in feeling what you feel. Today I’m talking about what happens when we say what’s on our hearts and minds without self-judgment, even though there’s pressure to stay silent and stay grateful—and how to use those unsayable things as *useful* information. Wanna join me in hopping off the hamster wheel of self-improvement and looking inward with me?

world, in our lives, we're not supposed to say out loud. And part of the reason that I want to talk

1:05.1

about this now is that I know that there are some of you listening who are feeling some sort of dissatisfaction,

discontentness, maybe a longing for something different, right, or something more,

1:25.9

or what is it even that I want?'ll get into that and often we will be hungry

1:32.3

for something and we'll want something and then we will talk ourselves out of wanting that because

1:37.5

oh I should just be grateful oh there's so much going on in the world how could me wanting something

1:43.9

different actually matter actually be important actually there's so much going on in the world, how could me wanting something different,

1:44.7

actually matter, actually be important, actually be a priority, all the things, right?

1:50.9

I'm certain fill in the blank that there is something that you've felt a craving for,

1:57.1

a hunger for, a desire for that you have also talked yourself out of because X, Y, Z is

2:03.7

happening in the world. And part of what I want to do with this episode is, number one, let you know

2:08.6

that what you're hungry for and what you're craving, that it's not just you, that you're

2:14.2

not alone in that. And number two, to really emphasize that it's okay to want what you

2:22.2

want, right? It's okay to hunger for what you hunger for, even though things are happening in the

2:29.7

world. And not only is it okay, but actually by giving yourself permission to say these things out

2:37.7

loud, to experience what you're experiencing, to want what you want to tell your truth,
