I'm Marjorie Puntit. I'm Elizabeth Rees. This is Best to the Ness, the podcast that's all about

0:15.3

creating happy, healthy, beautiful homes that prepare us to fly. I am very excited this morning. We both took some time to read a

0:23.7

wonderful new book called The Beautiful Know and other tales of trial transcendence and transformation.

0:28.8

And it happens to be written by a woman that I've known for a very long time, Sherry Salada.

0:34.0

She joins us this morning. Good morning, Sherry. Oh, good morning. Thanks for having me on. This is very

0:40.3

exciting. Sherry. We have just been beside ourselves with joy. You know, Sherry, what's fun is that I have

0:44.8

heard tales of Sherry Salada from Marjorie for years and years. Marjorie and I hosted a radio show together

0:50.6

at My Talk 107.1. And she would really sing your praises about the way that you

0:55.9

led people. And she talked about it all the time. And I think that's a testament to the impact that

1:02.4

you had and the impact that you have had as a leader. So Marjor, you got to give everybody the

1:06.2

background on Sherry's esteemed career. So Sherry spent 21 years at the Oprah Winfrey show.

1:11.5

She started in the promo department, which is where I knew her, and worked very hard and eventually

1:17.0

became the final executive producer of the Oprah Winfrey show.

1:20.3

And then she was off to L.A. to become the co-president of Oprah's cable channel own.

1:24.6

That's a big resume.

1:25.9

It's so funny to me because I read that and I know that

1:28.5

about you, but none of that has anything to do with really how you impacted my life. And I think

1:36.1

in turn, the world is finally getting to see the impact that you can have. It's really because of

1:43.1

who you are, not what you were doing.

1:45.7

It was how you led, even though you were working at the Oprah Winfrey show, but it's how you

1:50.3

led and how you were to the people around you. Because when I knew you, you were just a promo

1:54.7

producer and not just. I don't mean it that way. But you were still an amazing person to be around.
