Summary

Today we welcome back author, speaker, and life coach Andrea Owen!

Together we chat about Andrea’s newest book, “Make Some Noise” and what it means to step forward in life, not necessarily with confidence, but with the conviction that you deserve to take up space, raise your voice, and well...make some noise! We also dissect the importance of unlearning all that we’ve been conditioned to believe, particularly as women, and the four steps that will help you on the way.

Healing through trauma, feeling fulfilled, and finding happiness is possible for all of us, but as Andrea says, “If you want to change your life, you have to actually change your life.” Listen in for some game-changing advice and places to start.

Hi, Andrea. Welcome. Tiffany, I'm so excited to be back. Thank you for having me. Oh my gosh. Thank you for being here. I'm loving the new book. And there's just so many places to go with it. And I think that it is perfect for us to talk about on the show and like perfect for the time that we're in right now. Right. I didn't do that on purpose.

0:53.9

Which has sort of happened.

0:58.3

Yeah. So I think where I want to start is a quote that I believe I pulled from your introduction,

1:05.1

where you say we live in a culture that tells women no matter what, they are not good enough.

1:11.2

Yeah. I was a little dramatic with that.

1:13.3

But I believe that to be true, I think it's either, to be more specific, I think it's,

1:17.7

we are conditioned to feel either too much or not enough at any given moment.

1:23.4

Yeah, that is my professional and personal opinion.

1:26.2

And, like, often, they're simultaneously too much and not enough.

1:30.5

Exactly.

1:31.3

Right.

1:31.9

Yeah.

1:32.2

Exactly.

1:33.4

And yes, I think that that's sort of a fear of human beings in general, not just women.

1:40.6

But we can't argue that we live in a patriarchal culture that conditions and for lack of a

1:46.3

better word, trains us as women to behave, think, and believe certain things. Right. And I think

1:53.9

this is so important and this is something that I'm definitely working on incorporating more into

all of my work is that you and I both are steeped in personal
