where are all the women hairdressers? It seems like only guys are being interviewed. However,

great interviews. And then she gave us five stars. Lisa, totally hear you. We've had a good

number of women hairdressers on the show, but we have had more men, so I get it.

Luckily, we have more women coming up, so hopefully you enjoy that.

A couple weeks ago, we held a class at Salon Republic Hollywood that was taught by Mary.

Luckily for us and everybody in attendance, Robert came too, so we recorded this podcast

right after the class.

It was my first time meeting either of them, so you're getting a little behind the scenes, plus

all the incredible knowledge that these two have to offer. Robert is a legend who has

maintained his relevancy very impressively through the digital revolution. Not many have done

that. We go into it all right here. I strongly urge you to listen in a place

where you can take notes because it's rapid fire with tons of tools and practices that you

can implement into your daily routine to make more money and provide a better experience to your

guests. The way I see it, those two things go

hand in hand. So let's first get into where you guys are from. Mary you first.

All right. I'm originally from upstate New York from Albany and I moved to

San Diego to work for Robert 21 years ago. Oh wow. So when I was just 20. Baby. I worked for him for 10 years before we started dating and now we've been together 12 years and we're engaged and we're getting married in November.

Congratulations. Thank you. But I started with Paul Mitchell when I was 18. So I became an educator in upstate New York and then the person that I was working for kind of led me to who he sort of looked up to and was sort of kind of emulating our salon at the time after Robert and Robert's salons and how he did things, having a Rising Star program. And he was great at being like, where do you want to go? What are you going to do with your life? And I'm like, I want to work for that Robert Chromings guy. Like, I've gotten to go to hair shows.
