And today we're going to be in section 51 through 57. There is a lot going on in these sections.

And so what we're going to do first is talk about the big picture, especially as it relates to Zion. So, Bryce, why don't you

start us off talking about the big picture in these sections? If you've been listening to our

podcast, you know how I feel about the story that Jesus loves to tell, the story of the

New Jerusalem. Jesus has been telling that story throughout all of time.

Every Old Testament prophet that ever looked at his own people and saw failure and apostasy

and leaving the truth must have found comfort in the story of a group that would succeed.

So let's be early Latter-day Saints, and I'm going to hand you the Book of Mormon from the

very beginning, and notice what you will read as you start reading the Book of Mormon and start

hearing these hints at the story of the Latter-day Saints and the success of

Zion. So turn with me to 3rd Nephi chapter 16. When Jesus appears in the American continent,

he starts telling the Nephites the great story of Zion's triumph. So 3 Nephi chapter 16, he starts using keywords like

gather. I will gather them, verse 5. Notice verse 7. He keeps hinting at this, in the latter days,

shall the truth come unto the Gentiles, that the fullness of these things shall be made known

unto them. He keeps telling the story of the Latter-day Saints, the triumph of Zion in our day.

He continues that story in chapter 20. And notice the key words he keeps using. He talks about, verse 13, a scattering and a gathering.
