John Wesley, he said, though we are strangers to the world and strangers to ourselves, we are no

longer strangers to God. We are His. That's what happens. When you become a Christian, you get

adopted into God's family, why not you just pause long enough to think through that, to meditate

what Christ did for us, and now we reach out to

those around us. You may not have the ability to adopt somebody into your family, but you can

adopt them through prayer. You can say, I'm committed to pray for this individual. I remember saying

this to an individual one time that I had met. I just met him. He's a bass player for a well-known

band. I said,

listen, I'm committed to pray for you every day for at least a year. And he was so taken back

that I was willing to do that. And I would send him a text regularly, and he would send me a text.

Hey, this is what I need prayer for. Be there for someone. You can't adopt them, but you can be there for someone. You can't adopt them, but you can be there for them,

and you can adopt them through prayer

and just lift them up before God.
