You think of scripture saying that, you know, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I fear no evil for you are with me.

The promise isn't that you won't walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

Yeah.

Like we will all walk through that valley.

The promise of scripture is that God is with us.

And because we have this great shepherd, our loving Heavenly Father,

that walks with us through these trials,

we can find comfort in those moments of depression or anxiety worry trials.

I think it was Charles Spurgeon who said, it's the doctrine of God's sovereignty,

that he's in control of all things, that is the pillow that the Christian lays their head

on at night.

I could not flourish.

I'll just say flourish, but I probably couldn't survive as a Christian if I didn't believe that God was in control of all things. If God was in heaven wishing certain things could take place

in my life, but he's like, sorry Nathan, like you're on your own, walk through

that valley, walk through that trial. So as a believer that believes that the scriptures teach,

there is a sovereign God who loves his people and cares for them, and that all things, Romans 828,

I'll work, I'll working together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.

Like I cling to that promise.

The good times, the bad times, when I have money in the bank, when I don't have money in the bank,

when I have health, when I don't have health, all of those things in God's mysterious plan

are working together for my good.
