Today we'll be telling the story of St. Clair of Assisi, whose feast is celebrated on August 11.

St. Clair was born on July 16, 1194.

Claire was born to a very wealthy family,

and her mother was also a very devout Catholic. When she was 18 years old, St. Clair heard St. Francis of a Sisi preaching and decided she wanted to live her life like him.

She asked St. Francis for help and instruction in living her life according to the Gospels.

Not long after, her sister Katarina joined her, and they lived in a Benedictine monastery until a small house was built for them next to the church of San Damiano.

Their little group of women, which was continually increasing in size,

was known as the poor ladies of San Damiano.

And after St. Clair's death, they rename them the poor Clairs after their foundress.

St Clair is often depicted in art holding the Blessed Sacrament.

In 1224, an army came to Ran Sakisisie.

St. Clair took the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrands and went to meet the army.

When they approached her, they suddenly became terrified and left.
