Welcome to the talking scripture. I am Mike and today we're going to talk

about the overall structure of the Book of Mormon.

This is stuff that you're probably not going to teach in a lesson, but this is information that

I think is really important to understanding the text.

I think every teacher should know more than what they teach.

And so when you're teaching the Book of Mormon, you really want to cover, you know, how it's centered on Christ and the principles that it teaches

and how it brings us to him and how we can be better people but I also think the book of

Mormon gives tons of evidence as to what it is and its authenticity.

And so today we're going to talk about the page in the very beginning of the Book of Mormon.

There's a page called a brief explanation about the Book of Mormon, and it says that the Book of Mormon is a

sacred record of peoples in ancient America and was engraved upon sheets of metal.

The things I'm going to talk about even to people that have been members their whole lives

Some of this stuff may be new information to a lot of you. It may be something that I think you will find very interesting

If you're a brand new member of the church, hopefully I explain things well enough that it makes

sense and then as we go through this, you'll see the Book of Mormon in greater detail.

And so the first thing I want to talk about here is essentially who was Mormon.

And so we read about him and why is it called the Book of Mormon?
