Summary

Sooo...you're told that baby steps are the way forward BUT consistency is so hard AND you're super impatient. What's a hand raiser and yes sayer to do? Listen to this episode!

This week, I'm talking about why baby steps are THE only way forward (yes! really!), offering up a new way to think about building a consistent habit (that doesn't involve having to wake up in the middle of the night to live your Best Life) and what your impatience is really doing to you.

I'm also giving full permission for you to ignore everything you read about how there are only x number of days left in this decade (the horror!) and chill out instead. Enjoy, enjoy!

differently, in even just showing up for yourself.

0:52.5

It doesn't even have to be differently, but kind of doing the

0:54.8

things that you know you want to do. And I think this is a really useful time to talk about this,

1:01.1

because as we start to get into the holidays, as we start to think about the end of 2020,

1:08.5

I've been seeing a lot of things out on the internet about

1:12.6

there are only six weeks left in this decade. What are you going to do?

1:17.8

I'm like, ah, no pressure, right? And I will argue that I'm not going to be asking you those questions because I don't know that

1:29.2

those questions are helpful. I think that yes, can it be helpful to get a fire lit under us

1:36.4

so that we shake ourselves out of our comfort zone? Absolutely. But I also think that

1:43.4

I think that it's dangerous because I think that sometimes

1:48.3

we can become dependent on those jolts. And what we miss out on is an experience of learning

1:57.6

how to jolt ourselves in a way that is effective but not jarring, right? Because being jolted,

2:08.1

it can be really startling and jarring and not necessarily sustainable. So it looks and feels really
