Our entire lived experience as Americans is designed to distract us from the glory of God

and designed to make us feel restless and unsatisfied.

Just think about this, like what is the American dream?

It's the pursuit of happiness.

See the American dream isn't be happy, it's to pursue happiness.

It's to constantly desire and want and need to perform and grab and get, and so everybody

is always living in a constant state of like, oh, if only my job, if only my career, if

only the car, if only the house, if only the kids, if only I got married, if only, if only,

if only.

And the kicker with that is, that's a lie from the devil.

All of us knows, all of us have longed for something, our first home, a new car.

We get it.

A new boss.

We're waiting.

But what happens when we get it?

The next day, we find another grass to be greener.

We think of something else, if only, if only, if only we are living in an age where we're

constantly striving to get something that we think is going to make us happy.
