Summary

Hey friend, it's Dex, and we're back with another episode of So What Now? — where the convos are deep, the laughs are loud, and the side-eyes are always earned.

This week, we kicked things off with a little life catch-up. I ran a Hyrox race (yes, me — running, sweating, questioning my life choices), while Carla was out here being the hostess with the mostess for Easter. Deviled eggs were served, auntie gossip was flowing — it was fabulous.

Then we got into that trending Traci Ellis Ross interview. Traci said, "I grieve the things that I thought would be and that are not." No husband. No kids. And sometimes, sadness about that. So Carla asked the big question: Did we self-love ourselves into loneliness? She feels a woman needs male partnership. I said… let's pause. Alone doesn't have to mean lonely. And then I hit her with the real one: How exactly would a romantic relationship improve your life, ma'am? What do you need more than me? Let's talk about it.

After that emotional rollercoaster, we had to pivot to something wild — the whole Shannon Sharpe situation. And listen… we are not as freaky as we thought we were. Period. We're watching it all unfold, and it's a ride we did not ask to be on.

Then we wrapped with a few listener letters from a mama who's at her wits' end with her grown daughter who refuses to follow the rules. To besties battling over a man, ew!

So we're coming off this week off of a big weekend. A huge weekend. A big weekend. An amazing weekend. Big mom. I feel like I just qualified for the Olympics. But I think you did. It's the next phase.

0:53.3

Yeah. Compete in a high rocks. Go to the Olympics. I never knew what high rocks was before you told me what it was. And even when you told me I still didn't know what it was until I saw that you tagged someone. Yeah. So can you please explain for those of us that don't eat and breathe weights in a gym every day? We're regular folk that are listening to this show. what the hell is high rocks? I thought you were trying to hydrate yourself in some way. So it's basically a five-mile run broke out into eight stations. So you run a certain distance, you go to the first station. You run another distance, you go to the second station. And it's not a water station. No. The different stations are things like wall balls, sled push, sledge, burpee, a hundred lunges, 100 meters on the Roy machine, a certain distance in burpees. And so you can do it solo. You can do it as doubles. You can do it doubles mix. So you can do two girls, a guy and a girl, and then you can do a relay. Since it was my first, I did a relay. Okay. With the relay, you do two of the runs and you do two of the workout stations. So I had the sled push and I had the- You look really good with that put. You're like, you're right? I see it. I said pushing with the shoulders. I thought it was with the hands.

2:04.6

The better technique is with your shoulders because you're using your whole body. Because you got technique. Exactly. I got technique. That's what I said. I'm going to the Olympic. You are. So Olympics call her. You're supposed to call this before? I know. again because now I like on a high, but like I want to graduate and I want to go to the doubles in Mexico City with my friend. She caught me after half a blunt and said, and in the middle of a party with a bunch of kids and said, do you want to go to Mexico City? I was like, yeah, when? Tomorrow? Like, when are we leaving? who's watching song. And she's like in November. I was like, oh yeah, cool. We have enough time to plan. And then they're laughing.
