Marshall here. Welcome back to the Realignment.

So this week we tried something a little different,

soggar pivoted from co-host of the Realignment to guests along with his other co-host,

Crystal. It was really great. I got to grow both of them and they actually got to

grow each other a bit. Whether you agree or disagree with the populous left and

the populous right, Bernie Sanders either won or came incredibly close to winning

Iowa and this episode is going to come out the same day of the New Hampshire

primary where he's favored to win and Donald Trump obviously is present in the

United States. So you have a situation where the populous left and the populous

right. Different sides of the same coin that they share a critique of American

society are possibly going to compete against one another. So with Crystal and

Soggar you have people who are articulating a shared critique of American

society. They think that our economic, political and cultural elites have failed

for the past 30 or 40 years. But when it comes to that diagnosis what's so

interesting is they actually disagree about the actual cure. You're gonna see

them get into it on foreign policy, immigration, and drug policy and criminal

justice. Ultimately this show was really fun. It's a little longer than normal but

it was really great to see Soggar as a guest on the show for a little more

time to talk and then seeing how he and Christopher normally so synced up on

the show actually disagreeing about things a lot. So let's dive in.
