How are you doing?

How do you doing? How do you feel about taking care of yourself? Do you get a bit antsy when you hear the word self-care? I get it, a hell of a lot of us do. Given that most of us who are adults

right now didn't grow up learning about feelings and values and boundaries and needs and self-care.

Once we become aware of these, it's actually not unusual to feel under pressure about our self-work.

It's like we want to make up for lost time. We want to get it right. We want to make our efforts pay off. We might quite

simply want and expect of ourselves to do all of the things, you know, everything that we think

we're supposed to do that we should do if we want to get self-care right. When we start to treat ourselves but a bit more love,

care, trust and respect, when we start to make space for us in our lives and allow us to be more of who we are,

acts of generosity towards us become some much overdue tolerance, compassion, empathy and patience.

We treat us like a worthwhile and valuable human being deserving of our attention, so our time, energy, effort, and emotions,

deserving of us spending some of our bandwidth on us.

But it can actually start to feel well stressful and anxiety-inducing.

and feel as if we're supposed to be doing, you know, everything. We hear about self-care routines, and so we think that we have to do everything every day all the time.
