Something I think that most of us struggle with to some degree

is being wrong in some way or not knowing everything.

And as a result, we can find that we dig ourselves into various holes because we are afraid of looking

silly, incompetent, stupid, foolish, like we're a failure, whatever it might be we as I talked about in

episode two-one four we focus on trying to keep up appearances and we dig ourselves into a whole as a result and wind up with

far bigger problems than if we'd actually admitted our humanness and

imperfection in the first place.

What I've come to recognize over the years of running baggage reclaim

is that there were three particular habits that strengthen her character help us to create healthy boundaries

and also help us to recognize issues within our interpersonal relationships and they are

one admitting what we don't know

two admitting when we've made a mistake

and three admitting when we're in the wrong

these three habits are emblematic of our ability to be honest, integrity, vulnerability,

empathy, responsibility, maturity, our desire to heal, grow, and learn.

When we dodge, one, a couple or all three of these habits, it's a code red alert that we are not really being who we actually are,

that we are out of alignment with our needs, boundaries, and values.

But also that we're being driven by ego.

You know, the ego part of us is all about keeping up appearances.

It's all about winning, losing, being right versus being wrong, you know, who has the power.
