Hello and welcome to this episode of the ESG Fitness podcast. I'm going to do some

tough truths part two. I actually had a speech analyst I think or therapist message me on

Instagram and tell me that it's actually fine that I say truths with an F and that is part of my dialect because I'm

English so I feel much better about that now I feel less self-conscious about that I'm not sure yeah

let's go with that I also felt pretty inspired yesterday I mean mean, I usually feel quite inspired, fortunately,

but I guess inspired by being a woman. Is that a weird way to say it? Anyway, I think you

probably get my point because it was International Women's Day. And I thought, I don't know,

just thinking a lot about being a woman and the gratitude I have for the privilege of being raised and surrounded by women who inspire me and working with women who inspire me.

And I guess reflecting and realizing that I was never told that I couldn't do something because of my gender.

I won man of the match in a football game once.

And I mean, I guess that says something in itself that it was man of the match.

But to be fair, it was a

boy's team and they did let me play. So I think that's a win. And that's a privilege that a lot of

women around the world should have, but don't have. And I don't mean the privilege of playing

for a male football team. But I do mean your gender not holding you back. I mean,

it shouldn't really be a privilege, but unfortunately, I guess it still is. And a lot of people talk about

the privilege of money or race or the country you're born into or the socioeconomic background you're born into.

But I think one thing that's missed out is the impact on the mindset that you're brought into

or the mindset that's like instilled into you from a young age. And I just remember like from day one

being told I could do anything that I wanted. It didn't matter if I was a boy or girl

as long as I worked hard. And I think that is such a huge head start. And I'm so grateful for that.
