But your brain is another story. Sometimes a different spiritual practice or philosophy can change everything! I was at a silent retreat this …

Today is episode number 203. Stay tuned.

0:23.4

Hello, all my dear friends. How are you today? It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood.

0:28.8

I hope it's in yours too. It's winter, but it's beautiful. You know, I was in the, I was, where

0:34.4

was I last? Oh yeah. I was in Costa Rica about four weeks ago, five weeks ago.

0:42.4

Feels like a year ago. And it was warm and it was sunny and almost a little too hot in the afternoon.

0:48.8

And now I'm back here and it's cold and sunny. And you know what? If I had to take a preference, I probably would take cold

0:56.7

over hot. It feels so much better to me when I go out and I walk and I'm in nature and I'm looking in the

1:01.9

woods. But here's what I want to talk to you about today, about where I've been this weekend.

1:06.9

And where I was was very interesting because it's what I want to talk to you about today. I was at a silent

1:12.6

But I do love their philosophy. And I've talked to you a lot about it in the past. And one of the reasons that I like it so much is because it gives you an opportunity to look into your own mind. When we're in our

1:47.5

everyday busy life, we really don't have that opportunity to pay attention. And everything

1:53.2

that I've taught you for the last three years is about training your mind how to pay attention.

2:00.3

When I'm in a silent retreat like this, the only thing

2:03.2

I can do is pay attention to my mind because there is nothing else going on. So here's the type of

2:10.1

schedule that I'm doing when I'm doing a silent retreat. I just want to read you the schedule.

2:14.5

This is the way a schedule looks for one day. Time. Seven o'clock. Sit. Time.

2:21.1

745. Walk. Time. 8.15. Breakfast. Time. 9 o'clock. Sit. And this is the way it goes all day long for four days.

2:37.7

Sit, walk, sit, walk, eat. Sit, walk, sit, eat. And all we're really doing is we're having instructions on how we can pay more attention to our
